Hello everyone!
Very often we are getting into a trap of cooking from the same ingredients or making the same type of dishes – that becomes so boring that sometimes we think: “I am so tired of eating the same food, what should I do”. We start looking for some creative recipes but there is a problem: How do you know whether it is tasty or you will like it?. The answer is that we are looking for a trusted resource or the one with a lot of feedback from people.
If you tried some of my recipes, you should already know that food I share with you is delicious and easy to make (and honestly, my boyfriend is very critical when he evaluates my food, so it is not just my opinion). Today I want to share with you very interesting salad that is great for lunch or dinner, it will take ca. 15 minutes to make it and requires just 6 ingredients.
For 2 portions you will need the following ingredients:
- Beet – 1 average
- Crispy Lettuce – 130 g
- Goat cheese (brie or similar type) – 70 g
- Pear – 250 g
- Walnuts –35 g
- Turkey or chicken breast – 130 g
- Main ingredients
- I like to use a balsamic glaze as a dressing but I tried it with olive oil, it was same good
In this recipe we will first prepare all components, and then assemble them before serving the salad.
Step 1. Marinade a turkey/chicken
Take a turkey or chicken breast (further mentioned as turkey), wash it and cut it into smaller pieces as pictured. Then add salt, black pepper, dry basil (1 tbsp) and dry rosemary (1 tsp) and add 2 tbsps of olive oil. Mix it all together and set aside to marinade while we prepare other ingredients.
- Cut turkey/chicken breast in smaller pieces
- Add spices and olive oil
Step 2. Prepare beet
Beforehand boil a beet in casserole for an hour or until it gets soft inside (depends on the size of your beet). Take this ready beet, cut it in half and peel the skin off. Then Slice the beet as it is shown on picture and put sliced beet aside.
- Peel the skin off the beet
- Slice it
- Approximate thickness of slice
- Sliced beet
Step 3. Grill the pear
Wash a pear and cut it in half. Slice the halves and clean from seeds. Warm up either pan for grilling or regular one to temperature 6 out of 9. Grill/fry the pear for 1-2 minutes on one side and the flip it over. Continue frying pear for another pear and take it off the pan on a plate. Put it aside.
- Cut a pear in halves
- Slice it and clean from seeds
- Grill it on one side for 1-2 minutes
- Flip it over and grill for one minute more
- Put ready pear on the plate
Step 4. Gill turkey/chicken
Take a turkey/chicken that was marinaded at the first step, and grill or fry it on the same pan as we used for pear and at the same temperature. Grill it for 4 minutes on both sides, and then flip it over again and grill for 2 minutes more on each side. Take ready meat on a cutting board and chop it into smaller pieces like pictured. If you see that some of the pieces are undercooked, set them back on pan for a few more minutes. How it should look inside is shown on the picture below.
- Grill turkey on one side for ca. 4 minutes
- Flip it over and continue grilling for another 4 minutes
- Repeat the same steps but fry for 2 minutes on each side
- Take ready turkey on cutting board
- Chop meat
- Turkey inside
Step 5. Final preparations
Wash a lettuce salad and put it on the paper towel to dry. Then take a goat cheese or any other that are similar (like brie) and cut it into squares (like on the picture). And now all ingredients are ready, we can assemble a salad.
- Goat cheese inside
- Te way I cut this cheese
Step 6. Assembling a salad – one plate for one person
Put two big plates in front of you, and all ingredients around. We will assemble a salad layer by layer:

All components are ready to be assembled in a salad
Layer 1 is teared up lettuce salad.
- Tear off the lettuce
- Plate #1
- Plate #2
Layer 2 – Put beets over the green salad
- Then add beets
- On both plates
Layer 3 – Grilled pear
- The next layer is pear
- Pear on both plates
Layer 4 – Grilled meat
- Add meat on top
- On both plates
Layer 5 – Goat or other cheese

Add goat cheese
Layer 6 – Walnuts – but cut or smash them before adding to the salad
- I take walnuts in my hand and smash them
- Then pu all over salad
- Like this
Layer 7 – Use either olive oil or a bit of balsamic glaze as a salad dressing and that’s all.
- I like to use a balsamic glaze as a dressing but I tried it with olive oil, it was same good
- Ready salad
- Ready salad – 2 portions
Enjoy your food
