When I was learning the art of baking, the recipe for this sugar bread was the first one I was struggling with. This may sound funny but in reality absence of knowledge and understanding of what I am doing led to the struggles with the simplest recipe among all I know now. I asked my mom how she does it, and she taught me that if you don’t use any mixer and do it if the hands, it will take more than 5 minutes (so my problem was that I didn’t beat the eggs enough). Nowadays, we laugh at that story, but I understand those who are just starting to bake and are not sure what to do.
If you have any fruits or just apples that maybe doesn’t look so nice, don’t throw away them but use for this simple apple pie. In total, you will spend ca. 1 hour (40 minutes to bake) and you will be impressed of the result.
Ingredients:
- Flour – 1 cup or 130 g
- Sugar – 1 cup or 175 g (the same cup as for flour)
- Egg – 3 pcs
- Apple – 3 pcs or more
- Cinnamon (optional) – 1 tbsp

Step 1. Prepare apples
Turn on the oven to heat it up to 180° Celsius. Take apples, wash them and cut into the medium size pieces like on the picture. Apples are ready, so put them to wait aside.

Step 2. The mixture (dough)
Take 3 eggs and beat them with a mixer for a minute, then add the sugar and keep beating them for another 6 minutes. Check if the sugar has dissolved, if yes – then mixture is ready. Consistency should be like on the picture below. Mix in the flour very gently and carefully. for me it took 5 minutes. And that all, we are almost ready to bake.
Step 3. Prepare a form for baking
The max diameter of the form can be 18 cm. I use the bigger one from this set. Spread the form fat or any other fat you have and cover with flour on top (like on the picture). Put half of the mixture in the form, and add apples and add cinnamon if you like one. And cover apples with the rest of the mixture.
Step 4. Bake the pie
When the oven is heated up, put the mixture in the oven and set a timer for 30 minutes. In 30 minutes check the dough with a wood stick, if its clean then the pie is ready, if not – then bake it for another 10 minutes and check again.
When the pie is ready, let it stay for 5 minutes and then take it from the form. It can be served warm or cold. Taste really good with an ice-cream and cup of coffee.
